Built around 1800, this has a plain tile roof, with 3 storeys and 7 bays. The shop front is Victorian.It still has the original sash windows.On old maps it was listed as 'premises occupied by F H Burgess Ltd on west corner of Market Street".The 1830 map indicates that it was owned by P. Walmsley esq. In 1934, Moss Brothers occupied it. they were general builders and estate ironmongers, motor, motor cycle and cycle agents and radio dealers, gun, ammunition and bus proprieters. In the 21st century, their premises was in Aston Street where they were mainly concerned with motor cycles.
The shop was, for a period, also a grocers. Dedmans, who in 2012 have a shop in Station Road,provided a grocery service at the west end of town. It is also rumoured that race-horses were kept in the garden behind the shop.Following the departure of Star Grocers to a shop in Shrubbery Gardens, the premises was divided up and tenants included the Abbey National Building Society
