Josiah Franklin was the auctioneer for the Smithfield market, held twice weekly behind the Castle Hotel. When he died, Halls appear to have taken over this livestock market which has now moved to Battlefield roundabout near Shrewsbury. No 19 was a chemists dispensary until 2018, when Rowlands moved their main facility to the Medical Centre in New Street.
