The Morgan Library was a gift to the town by Mrs John Morgan of Wem and erected at a cost of £1300. In 1917, it contained 100 books, a reading room and a chess room. In 1992 the library was moved to a new building in the High Street, where the Talbot Inn used to be. The front 2 rooms were leased to Mythstories, run by Dez and Ali Quarrel. they are bards who recount old tales and keep a small museum on the premises. |
