This is an 18th century house with painted brick walls and a steeply pitched slate roof. The dormers were added in the late 19th century.
The history of baking in this house have been long recording, from at least 1850 to past 1950. Thomas Weevers opened it with his wife. He was joined in baking by his sons after his wife's death. He appears to have died around 1890, for it was then sold by his executors to Samuel Ridgway of Nantwich, who continued the baking tradition. This made for 2 families of Ridgways baking bread in the same block of houses!.
