LOCAL FOOD & DRINK, PLANT and CRAFT MARKET

Food, Drink, Crafts & Plant Market with emphasis on locality and quality with a wide range of produce and products. This popular and friendly market, with nearly 50 stalls, is now in its 8th year.
There are two venues:
Wem Town Hall (High Street, SY4 5DG) and Wem Senior Club (Chapel Street, SY4 5ER).

Traders present:

Alice & Friends ~ Sewn & knitted designs, all handmade; gifts plus items for the house. Knitted items are mainly children’s knitwear but accessories for adults. Things can be made to order and may be personalised. Baby Egg Clothing - Hand-knitted baby clothes and blankets.
Battlefield 1403 Farm Shop ~ Home-cooked ready meals, home reared and locally sourced meat plus rare breed pork, bacon and gammon from woodland reared pigs on the Albrighton Estate.

Berriew Cider ~ Producer of Traditional Cider, Cider Vinegar and Apple Juice.
Border Honey ~ Local producer based on the borders of Shropshire, Cheshire & North Wales, high quality artisan honey and related products. Butterfly Designs by Sue Local amateur artist creating painted jute/juco/cotton bags, cushion covers, hangings, watercolour paintings and cards.
Buzzy Bee Nursery: A local nursery based in Whixall, specialising in flowering plants, bulbs and herbs, which attract wildlife. Caribbean Flaava - A Cheshire-based food company that produces a range of Caribbean foods, jerk marinade; sauces: mango chilli pineapple curry, rum barbecue; guava & plantain jam; boozy chocolate cake
Caroline's Classic Cakes include traditional favourites such as fresh cream and strawberry jam Victoria sandwiches, tangy lemon drizzles topped with a lemon curd butter icing and coffee and walnut sponges filled with a smooth coffee flavoured butter cream, to name but a few! There is also a selection of other sweet goodies, double chocolate brownies, golden syrup flapjacks, fruit or cheese scones and all butter shortbread hearts. The Chocolate Tailor: Handmade chocolates for any occasion. Whether a treat for you or a special gift, the chocolate are innovative, freshly made and full of taste.
Coalbrookdale Crafts: An assortment of crafts and gifts for all the family: knitted children's clothes & toys; knitted bags and cloth bags; adult and children's jewellery, books, cards and other gifts. Commonwood Vineyard ~ White, Red and Rosé Wines, estate grown and bottled. Sited about 2 miles out of Wem. First planted on the level, sandy soils with Phoenix in 2002, now expanded to include red vines. One hectare of vines, with room for further plantings. Uses organic practices but is not registered with the Soil Association. Aims to become carbon-neutral, with the aid of solar panels and a wood-burning water-heating system. Crossbank Farm Cottage Garden Plants ~ A small family-run nursery on the outskirts of Wem producing high quality, affordable Hardy Perennials, Herbs and Grasses. From Fleece to Finish ~ Sue takes locally produced alpaca fleece, handspins it into yarn and then knits and crochets a range of acraves, hats, gloves and other items. Spinning demonstrations.

The Fruitful Deli ~ Cheeses, including local cheeses, olives, pickles and artisan bread.
Glass V & Silver B - a mother and daughter team making unusual highly individual pieces from fused glass and sterling silver (hallmarked). we take great pride in the detailing and finishing of our wares and always welcome requests for commissions and personalised pieces. The items that we sell are fused glass tea lights, plaques, dishes, framed pictures and cards and sterling silver necklaces, bracelets, bangles, earrings, rings, initials and charms. Helen's Handmade Cards~ Hand-made Gift Cards, Decoupage Designs, suitable for lots of occasions.
Helen’s Jams & Jellies: Extra jam, Extra Jelly, Vinegar (fruit-based), Chutneys, Spiced Jellies ~ fruit from the maker’s smallholding. Extra - more than 45g fruit per 100g of jam/jelly. Honesty Soap - Handmade natural soap without the use of harmful chemicals. Made using essential oils for fragrance and natural botanicals to colour. Vegan friendly.
Kizmet Crafts - A small company making distinctive and unusual handmade beaded jewellery and cards. Lavender Designs - All the vintage-style handbags and totes are handmade by myself.
Little Bell Yarncrafts ~ Crochet accessories, hats, scarves, bags , etc. Fine crèpe scarves. I design and make accessories using quality textured yarns.

Nikki & the Rose - Textile artwork, shabby chic crafts for home and garden. Rhona Owen ~ Homemade preserves and market garden produce including vegetables.
Perfect Samosas- BBC Good Food champions - gourmet, artisan samosas produced using locally sourced ingredients with no additives or preservatives. We specialise in savoury and dessert samosas. Pix by Gail ~ Mounted digital photo images – my own favourite images inspired by local events and favourite Shropshire and North Wales locations.
Powell’s Pies - ~ Traditional ‘hand-raised’ pork pies made to our family recipe, which has been handed down thro’ 4 generations; pickled onions. Rodington Vineyard ~ Award-winning English wines from Shropshire. We are a family run vineyard in the heart of Shropshire. We Sell our Blue Tractor Wines, produced from our own locally grown grapes: White, Red and Rosé Wines
