Son of John Sands Chidlow, (born 1888), farm labourer, and Florence May Didlick,(born 1893, Newport, Shropshire),
who married in Wem, 1910.

1911 Census lists John and Florence Chidlow as
living with Florence's parnets at the Wren's Nest, Edstaston;
Occupation of John Chidlow: Farm Labourer.

During WWII, Albert E. Chidlow was a
Private, [4031148], 1st Bn., Kings Shropshire Light Infantry
Died: 1st May 1940, aged 28 years.

Theatre of War: France and Belgium Campaign 1939/40

The battalion was one of the last to be evacuated from Dunkirk in 1940,
and later served in North Africa, spending the last 18 months of the war fighting in Italy.
