The 66th Light Anti-Aircraft Regt. was formed in Northern Ireland in December, 1940.
As an air defence unit it took part in the Belfast Blitz (1941) and in Kent (defending Dover and the Dover Strait
from shelling by German guns). Later it took part in the invasion of Sicily and then Italy.
In 1945, it became a transport unit and saw action in the Greek Civil War.
