Taller structure than No 4, with high upstairs windows and attic. It was owned by Mrs Mason according to the 1830 map. It has been 2 shops for much of the 20thC. The occupancy of the right hand shop is unclear from information sources. In 2002, it was occupied by the Relate charity shop, which, in 2010, moved to another shop across the road.Horace Ratcliff ran a watch repairing business for many years before the second World War.

In the 1950s, Local historian Tom Edwards remembers Mary Dorrell running a stationer and gift shop at 6a. In the 1990's, the charity 'Relate' used the shop, before moving across the road.In 2013, a therapist opened, trading as 'Hand on Heart'
The butcher's business in 6b has been there for many years. In 2012, it was the only survivor of a large number of butcher's shops. These in turn helped sustain a local industry. Isherwood's timber yard produced butchers' blocks intil their closure in the 1980s. The yard waas derelict for many years, and then was developed as a housing estate, named 'Isherwood's Way' which leads from the station to the back of the Market Square. The sign was seen on the back of a farm gate at Bettisfield.
